Tingala is a floral liqueur that has a natural tingling flavor. It is the first spirit of its kind in the world. It is made from flowers native to the Rainforest of Brazil and Peru. The flowers have a distinct and strong tingling flavor.
When this unique branding opportunity came to me, I was thoroughly intrigued because of my personal interest in the ancient cultures of the Americas. Tingala’s one-of-a-kind ingredient is indigenous to the Amazonian region, so inspiration came naturally.
The main mark — the wasp — is a visual representation of the tingling sensation that occurs when you sip the drink. This pleasant, albeit surprising taste gives the drink its mysterious allure and creates a sense of wonder.
I have always been fascinated by the mystery that surrounds these civilizations so while creating the typography for Tingala, I drew inspiration from not only the hieroglyphic writing systems of the civilizations, but also the architectural features of their temples and monuments.
